Dad and daughters

Julia's in my lap as I type. Lauren's crawling around the room looking for another crayon to eat. Chanel ran out for a few minutes. When she returns we'll be whole. In an hour Julia will go to sleep, Lauren will snooze for an hour and then scream like mad. Julia will yell in her sleep just loud enough to get one of us out of bed to check on her, but not loud enough to wake herself up. We live with howling nocturnal kids, and sometimes it's very frustrating. But put $1 million in front of me and ask me which I prefer and I'll flush the money down the toilet. Soon enough Chanel and I will get eight hours of sleep a night as our girls sleep peacefully. Until then, we'll enjoy the fact that it's us they want at night.
